Since my co-teacher asked her two pupils to clean some of the window panes and jalousies, I was also lured to clean up my little space in the faculty for it was too messy and eye-rritating. I just started cleaning the desk fan by wiping it with wet rag but of course I was not satisfied by just doing that! I began detaching each parts just like how my dad does and brought those parts to the sink and washed them with soap and water. I gently cleaned them and to my surprise I enjoyed seeing the dirt being washed away. Goodness, I think it was long before the last time I thoroughly cleaned a filthy thing. I enjoyed seeing the dust being dissolved by the power of water, soap, and sponge. And of course, that reminded me of something…
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
-Psalm 51:7

Generous in love – God, give grace!
Huge in mercy – wipe out my bad record.
Scrub away my guilt, soak out my sins in your laundry. (THE MESSAGE)
We are all filthy and futile. We deserved to be burned down like a fruitless vine, thrown away like tasteless salt, or withered like the fig tree. But because there’s someone who looked at us with such grace, carried us with gentleness and washed our filthiness with overflowing love – we were saved; from the inside out we were washed clean! We were broken, scattered but by His rich mercy we were mended and became whole. We’ve become empty-handed but He never left us nor forsaken us. He has redeemed us, letting us embrace a joyful life freely!
1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
-Psalm 51:1-2 (NIV)
I can imagine God smiling while seeing us being baptized into his water of grace, as we submerge in His oceans of love, our guilt, sins and imperfections were sinking as well until they are no more. What a lovely sight it could have been to Jesus! And remembering those love-filled gestures of Christ would make us sing of His amazing love and grace forever. Can you see God now? I mean, can you see His eyes filled with love for me and you? Can you imagine how He laid His life down for us? He did it just to raise us broken so we could have eternal life!
And here are the songs of my heart today:
From the Inside Out
[Verse 1]
A thousand times I’ve failed
Still your mercy remains
Should I stumble again
Still I’m caught in your grace
Everlasting, your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, your glory goes beyond all fame
[Chorus]
In my heart, in my soul
I give you control
Consume me from the inside out
Let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love you from the inside out
[Coda]
Everlasting, your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring you praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out
[Verse 2]
Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise

Broken Vessel
All these pieces broken and scattered
In mercy gathered mended and whole
Empty-handed but not forsaken
I’ve been set free, I’ve been set free
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
uh-oh-uh-oh, I once was lost
But now I am found
Was blind but now I see
CODA: (soft)
Oh I can see you now
Oh I can see the love in Your eyes
Laying yourself down
Raising up the broken to life
Romans 6:22-23
But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When I Think about the Lord,
When I Think about the Lord,
How He saved me,
how He raised me,
How He filled me,
with the Holy Ghost.
How He healed me, to the uttermost.
When I Think about the Lord,
How He picked me up
and turned me around,
How He placed my feet
on solid ground
[Chorus]
It makes me wanna shout,
Hallelujah!
Thank you JESUS!
LORD, your worthy, of all the glory, and all the honor,
And all the praise!
Colossians 1:13-14
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness,
and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
